Event
Rules:
Steer Mugging
- Legal head catches only
- No dragging the calf
- Calf must be daylighted
- Calf must remain tied for 6 seconds
- There is a 2 minute time limit
- There will be 2 ropers and 2 muggers. Muggers
are on the ground and ropers are horseback
- There will be 2 steers turned out to be roped and tied
Steer Branding
- Legal head catches only
- Steer must be roped behind line
- Steer must be daylighted
- Ropes must be clear of steer before branding iron can be retrieved
- Branding must be done on the ground, not on horseback
- No loop limit
- Branding iron must be in the
bucket for the time to stop
- 2 minute time limit
Rescue Man Race
- Horse must go around the barrel
- Person on the barrel must mount the horse from the barrel,
if fall off must get back on barrel
- 2nd horse may leave when the first crosses the line (which will be
indicated by the flagger)
- Time ends when both horses along with the riders and passengers cross the
finish line
- 2 minute time limit
Trailer Loading
- Legal head catches
- No dragging calf on horseback
- Calf must be in trailer with all ropes clear and trailer gate shut before time
will stop
- 2 minute time limit
Wild Cow Milking
- 4 man team, including a roper, a milker and two mugger’s only roper is on
horse
- Roper must stay behind start line. Cow
will be released; the flagger will drop flag signaling go time.
- Rope must be off the saddle horn
before the cow can be milked, failure to do so will result in a no time, and
must be off the
cow before time is flagged.
- Cow must be standing when milked.
- The muggers hold the cow with help from the roper, while the milker milks her
into a standard 12 oz. longneck bottle. Any
team member may milk the cow. The
milker may pass the bottle to another man to run to the flagger.
Runner must hand the bottle to the flagger, and the flagger will pour the
milk out. If the milk will not pour
or the contestant pours, the team will receive a no time.
- 2 minute time limit
